Orientation

(Formerly known as Immigrant Settlement & Adaptation Program (ISAP)

The Orientation program is dedicated to serving permanent residents, convention refugees and live-in caregivers who are new to Canada. The challenge of settling into a new country can be overwhelming; our team of diverse and highly skilled counselors work together to make the settlement experience a safe and informed one.

The support we offer through our Settlement Counseling Service provides newcomers with a place to find accurate information about settling in Canada. Our counselors provide intake and assessment services to identify the needs of individual clients and make appropriate referrals based on such needs.

The services offered include support with immigration documentation, access to education, employment, childcare, health care, child tax benefits, social assistance, housing, certification and preparation of affidavits, travel consents and invitation letters, individual and family counselling ( in depth counseling is not offered but referrals are made to meet clients needs) and help in obtaining social insurance numbers.

We will also give you tips on banking, shopping, managing a household and other everyday tasks. We provide interpreters, if you need them. We provide non-therapeutic counselling and help you prepare a professionally-looking résumé and help you learn job-searching skills.

All of our services are free, confidential and culturally sensitive.
